As protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) erupted again across India on Thursday, here is how people reacted on Twitter.
I have just been detained from Lal Qila. About a thousand protesters already detained. Thousands on the way.— Yogendra Yadav (@_YogendraYadav) December 19, 2019
Am told we are being taken to Bawana.

CAA is a life jacket.— Chetan Bhagat (@chetan_bhagat) December 19, 2019
NRC is everyone being pushed out of the plane as they have to prove themselves all over again.
But Muslims don’t get the life jacket.
Distributing life jackets is not the problem. Giving them only to a few and pushing everyone off the plane is.

What a day to be on the streets today. Daddy will be going on a wheel chair, kids at home have taken a day off, preparing placards. . One of those days the overwhelming despondency has been replaced by optimism for the country. #SaynotoCAB— Rana Ayyub (@RanaAyyub) December 19, 2019

Detaining people backfires.
Ask Congress, they tried it with Anna Hazare and @ArvindKejriwal
Ask them how that went.
.@Ram_Guha, one of India’s foremost intellectuals, is detained by the police for holding a poster of Gandhi and speaking to the press about CAA-NRC. A milestone in India’s descent into dictatorship. pic.twitter.com/LQY106hWEX— Shivam Vij (@DilliDurAst) December 19, 2019
This section 144 imposition is wrong. You can't say you're a RW freedom lover and say imposition of 144 willy nilly is right. Boss the maintenance of L & O is a responsibility of the state Gov. If mobs misbehave then the state has the case to deal with them with force.— कुशल मेहरा (@kushal_mehra) December 19, 2019
