If you're not spending your weekday evenings outside sipping rosé during this epic British summertime that we're having then you're probably spending them outside sipping Aperol Spritz instead.

Not only is this drink really quite tasty (and strong AF) but it also has that added benefit of looking pretty beautiful in photos, making it ideal for envy-inducing Instagram grids.

Case and point ^^^.

While these drinks are definitely worth going to extra effort for, purchasing all the required elements can make for an expensive trip to Sainsbury's.

Not only do you need the Aperol, currently £15 at Sainsbury's, but you also need prosecco, soda water and, if you're serious about your Instagram future, some oranges and straws for decoration.

Which is why when we heard that Lidl was selling its own version of Aperol for half the price, we made a mental note to go straight there after work and pick up a crate.

Lidl's version of this popular Italian apertivo is called 'Bitterol' and the supermarket chain recommends adding prosecco and soda for "a refreshing Bitterol spritz". Lols.

While we've yet to trial Bitterol to find out how it compares to Aperol, we can tell you that at £7.99 it is probably worth buying at least once to try for yourselves.
