Troy Kotsur's powerful speech
Troy Kotsur dedicated his Best Supporting Actor win for his performance in drama 'CODA' - in which the deaf characters were played by deaf actors - to "the deaf community and the disabled community". When Troy - who is deaf himself - walked up to the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, the audience showed their appreciation for his work with silent jazz hands instead of traditional applause, the sign language symbol for clapping. In a signed speech interpreted by a translator, he said: "This is amazing to be here on this journey. I cannot believe I'm here. Thank you so much to the members of the Academy for recognising my work."©BANG Showbiz - 4/11

Will Smith's slap shocks the world!
Without doubt, the most memorable moment of the 2022 Oscars was when Will Smith got out of his seat to slap presenter Chris Rock across the face. Will was enraged when Chris made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith being bald as he presented the award for Best Documentary Feature. Chris quipped, "Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can't wait to see it, alright?" a reference to the 1997 war drama for which Demi Moore shaved off all her hair to portray Lieutenant Jordan O'Neil. Will then marched towards Chris and struck him across the cheek, prompting the stunned comic to tell the star-studded audience: "Oh Wow. Will Smith just smacked the s*** out of me." Will then shouted from his seat: "Take my wife's name out of your mouth." Later in the evening, Will won the Best Actor gong for his performance in 'King Richard'.(C) BANG Showbiz
