Air fryers are wonderful things. But we have to admit, sometimes we can’t face using ours because we know we’ll have to clean it afterwards and we are very, VERY lazy when it comes to cleaning.

So when we came across this video from @carolina.mccauley on TikTok on how to easily deep clean your air fryer, we were thrilled to be honest – especially seeing as she uses just three kitchen store cupboard staples that you almost definitely already have at home.

First up, she sprinkles bicarbonate soda into the air fryer basket then drizzles a little washing up liquid in too. Next, she pours in boiling water, which makes the bicarbonate soda and washing up liquid expand and foam up, which is very satisfying. She then allows the whole lot to sit for a bit.

While that’s happening, she mixes half water and half vinegar in a spray bottle. And that’s what she uses to clean the inside and outside of the air fryer. And we love this bit – she covers a butter knife with a cloth and uses that to clean the hard-reach parts of the air fryer.

Finally, she pours the bicarbonate soda, washing up liquid and boiling water mixture down the sink before giving the basket a quick scrub and rinse.

Et voila: the cleanest air fryer you ever did see!
