Burnley's Ashley Barnes gets a yellow card for planting two kisses on Cardiff City's Joe Bennett

Burnley forward Ashley Barnes now has the most unique yellow card of the 2018-19 English Premier League season. Hell, it could be the most unique yellow card of the last 10 seasons.

Barnes was carded during added time at the end of the first half for going face-to-face with Cardiff City’s Joe Bennett and giving Bennett two kisses to the face. Seriously. Barnes kissed Bennett. Twice!

The first kiss was on the forehead. That wasn’t good enough for Barnes, who then got Bennett on the nose.

Barnes was frustrated with Bennett after Bennett made a hard foul that got himself a yellow card. So while Barnes was nicely (?) showing his displeasure, he ended up getting a card himself after Bennett’s tackle.

With both teams near the bottom of the Premier League table, Saturday’s game was vital to both teams’ chances of staying up. Burnley all but assured that it would stay up next season with a 2-0 win thanks to a brace from Chris Wood. With only five matches left, the result does not bode well for 18th-place Cardiff as it tries to pull itself out of the relegation zone.
