Bubba Wallace accuses Donald Trump of ‘hate’ after calling on NASCAR driver to apologise for noose ‘HOAX’

Bubba Wallace accuses Donald Trump of ‘hate’ after calling on NASCAR driver to apologise for noose ‘HOAX’

NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace has hit back at criticism from Donald Trump and accused the United States President of inciting ‘hate’ towards him.

Wallace, NASCAR’s only full-time black driver and a vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, was instrumental in the campaign to have the confederate flag banned from races, and was recently at the centre of a racial storm after a noose was discovered inside his racetrack garage at the Talledaga Superspeedway track in Alabama.

An FBI investigation followed, with it determined that the garage door pull rope, which had been fashioned like a noose, had been in that stall since last October .

Wallace insisted that it was a "straight-up noose" and whether directed at him or not, still believes it was an act of racism.

President Trump has accused Wallace of making up the story, and called on the 26-year-old to apologise.

Trump tweeted: "Has Bubba Wallace apologized to all of those great Nascar drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX."

The POTUS also claimed the noose incident and the removal of the flag had caused Nascar's "lowest ratings ever".

Responding to President Trump, Wallace tweeted: "Your words and actions will always be held to a higher standard than others. You have to be prepared for that. You don't learn these things in school. You learn them from trials and tribulations, the ups and doss this crazy world provides. You will always have people testing you. Seeing if they can knock you off your pedestal. I encourage you to keep your head held high and walk proudly on the path you have chosen."

"Never let anybody tell you can't do something! God put us all here for a reason. Find that reason and be proud of it and work your tails off every day towards it! All the haters are doing is elevating your voice and platform to much greater heights! Last thing, always deal with the hate being thrown at you with LOVE! Love over hate every day. Love should come naturally as people are TAUGHT to hate. Even with it's HATE from POTUS! Love wins.
