Jungkook is set to become the next member of BTS to release a solo album.

Over the weekend, the South Korean news outlet Sports Chosun reported that Jungkook would be releasing his highly-anticipated debut solo album on July 14. His label, Big Hit, confirmed in a statement to Star News that while Jungkook’s debut solo project is on the way, it hasn’t yet been given a release date.

“We will make an announcement once the release schedule for Jungkook’s solo album has been confirmed,” Big Hit said, as translated by Soompi.

Jungkook has already released several solo singles, including ‘Dreamers’ for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, ‘My You’ for BTS’ 2022 Festa celebrations and ‘Stay Alive’ for the 7Fates: CHAKHO soundtrack.

Most of BTS’ members have released solo music while the group has been on hiatus to enable each member to complete their compulsory military duty, as all able-bodied South Korean men must before the age of 35. J-hope, Jin and RM all released solo music in 2022, as has Jimin, who landed the highest UK chart appearance by a BTS member earlier this year with ‘Like Crazy’. V has also reportedly been working on solo music.

Meanwhile, Suga released his debut album under his Agust D alias, ‘D-Day’, in April, which was accompanied by a Disney+ documentary, Suga: Road To D-Day. He is currently in the middle of a world tour, the first member of the K-pop group to embark on a solo run of shows.

The group briefly came back together for ‘The Planet’, which was used in the opening titles for new South Korean animated series Bastions. They are expected to reconvene in 2025.
