'Bro does not live like a billionaire...' The loves of Elon Musk's life

Billionaire SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is rarely out of the headlines these days, from being sued by Twitter to launching rockets into the atmosphere. A man as interesting as Musk, of course, has an interesting romantic life. The Tesla CEO likes to work hard and play harder, but do you know who he has dated?

In 2002, the South African born and bred business magnate founded SpaceX and became CEO of electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla two years later. As of January 2021, Musk became the richest man in the world with a whopping net worth of $219 billion, over taking founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos.

Referred to as his “starter wife” the SpaceX founder married Justine Wilson in 2000. The couple were overjoyed to become parents to son Nevada in 2002 but their happiness soon turned to grief when the tot died at 10 weeks old from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Elon and Justine eventually separated in 2008 as they grew apart with Justine ending up feeling more like another employee than Musk's wife She told Marie Claire: "I am your wife,' I told him repeatedly, 'not your employee.’ "'If you were my employee,' he said just as often, 'I would fire you.'"

The ‘Westworld’ star got engaged to the business magnate just six weeks after he filed for a divorce from his first wife. Talulah married Musk in 2010, only for the mogul to request a divorce four years on.

Just 18 months after their divorce, Elon and Talulah rekindled their romance, only for Riley to file for a divorce from her second time round husband in 2016. She said: "Obviously I understand it looks strange. "But that logic made sense at the time. "I suppose the reason to get remarried was just because it felt silly to be together unmarried after having been married. "You know, it's like a habit. We were saying, 'This is my husband.' 'This is my wife.' 'Oh, wait, no, we're not that anymore. We better be that again.'"

Elon moved on with ‘Aquaman’ star Amber Heard in late 2016, who split from her ex-husband Johnny Depp that same year. Heard and Musk dated for only a year due and split due to their conflicting work schedules. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Musk said the split for him was difficult as he was “really in love, and it hurt bad".

Musk began dating musician Grimes back in April 2018, a month before they made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala. The couple sparked breakup rumours after they both unfollowed each other on Twitter that same year, but Grimes quickly shut down talks of a split in a 2019 interview with WSJ Magazine. After three years together, Musk announced the end of their relationship via social media. He said: “We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms.” It wasn’t long before the couple were back together again with Grimes confirming in March 2022 issue of Vanity Fair that they were an item again, only for her to soon reveal they had split again for good but would always remain close friends. They share two children together; X AE A X-II and Exa. Grimes gave an interesting insight into life with Elon, saying: "Like, bro wouldn't even get a new mattress... Bro does not live like a billionaire. Bro lives at times below the poverty line."

Earlier in July, news broke that the Elon had welcomed secret twins in November 2021 with Shivon Zilis. Court documents obtained by Insider in July 2022 revealed that Musk and the Neuralink executive welcomed twins in November 2021, weeks before Exa was born. Musk confirmed the report a day later in a Twitter post that read: “Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far."

Just months after his split from the Canadian singer, Musk already has his eyes set on someone new. A few weeks back, Hollywood Life reported that Musk was dating Australian actress Natasha Bassett and that they were in a “monogamous relationship”. A source said: "They have been dating for several months and are in a monogamous relationship right now."

The billionaire has certainly been busy building a family as well as an empire. Over the years Musk has managed to father nine children with three women. From his first marriage to Justine Musk, the couple had a total of five children – a set of twin boys in 2004 (Griffin and Xavier Musk, with Xavier declaring themselves as trans and changing their name to Vivian), and a set of triplets in in 2006 – Kai, Saxon and Damian. In March 2020, Grimes, who was Musk’s girlfriend at the time announced her pregnancy. The couple welcomed son X AE A X-II in May 2020. In December 2021, they welcomed a second child, a daughter named Exa Dark Siderael Musk via a surrogate. In a bid to help the “underpopulation crisis” Elon Musk fathered a set of twins with his top executive at Neuralink, Shivon Zilis.

Google co-founder Sergey Brin filed for a divorce from Nicole Shanahan back in January. The Wall Street Journal reported that Elon was the primary cause of their marriage breakdown and ruptured friendship. Musk vehemently denied having an alleged affair with the Silicon Valley entrepreneur and philanthropist. He tweeted: "This is total bs. Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic. Haven’t even had sex in ages (sigh)."
