Brits set to bask in Indian summer as expert says incoming UK heatwave 'even hotter than expected'
A top weather guru has suggested that the upcoming Indian summer heatwave set to hit Britain could be hotter than anticipated for one specific reason. Despite today's gloomy atmosphere due to unexpected overnight showers, an Indian summer-like heatwave is predicted to arrive later this week.
While most forecasts suggest a temperature around 24c, the experts at Exacta Weather are hinting it could be even hotter for one reason. Exacta's James Madden attributes this to a mid-Atlantic high heading our way. In his latest Facebook report he said: "During last week's heat surge, temperatures peaked at and hit a very warm 29c in London for the exact date I said temperatures could hit 30c. On this particular day, various weather apps were forecasting no higher than 24c a massive 5c off on the actual day, and we will see something similar to this developing with more extreme temperatures than what is currently being shown from elsewhere," reports the Daily Star.
This previous heat surge also came about from a mid-Atlantic high and this was a much less extreme area of high pressure in comparison to this incoming one from a much warmer origin. "Other forecasters are now in recognition of a major and prolonged period of heat and Indian summer weather, something we told you about for this exact period - we just need to arrive at more accurate temperature now.

UK Weather Forecast, another weather source on Facebook, is predicting an upcoming heatwave. They suggest the hot spell will last around seven to 10 days, starting in just days. They've predicted: "High pressure builds across the UK over the next few days and the signal becomes stronger throughout next week. This will lead to dry, bright and warmer weather for many of us."
They also detailed a gradual build-up throughout the weekend, saying: "A slow process throughout the weekend period however, with further wet weather expected in the north and north west as Atlantic fronts attack. For much of England and Wales it will be a drier weekend with temperatures around 18/20c, thanks to a ridge of high pressure."
Looking ahead, they shared their optimism for a warm front by noting: "Next week, we will see temperatures continue to rise as high pressure moves across the UK and becomes anchored throughout next week. As a result temperatures may push the low to mid twenties from the middle of next week onwards."
