Britney Spears and her longtime love Sam Asghari have made things official, tying the knot in Los Angeles on Thursday (9 June) afternoon, surrounded by their loved ones. The singer walked down the aisle in a custom Versace creation which was personally designed for her by Donatella Versace.
The Italian designer said that she had "a lot of fun" creating the gown for Spears, who has long been a supporter of the fashion house.
"I wish them the best, they’re amazing together, I’m so happy for them," she told Access Hollywood as she was interviewed on her way to the wedding, adding that it was "a lot of fun, a lot of emotion" to create the dress for Spears.
In the official photographs, which were taken and shared on Instagram by Kevin Ostajewski, the dress can be seen to have an off-the-shoulder cap sleeve and a deep V-shaped slit up the leg. E! News is also reporting that Spears wore jewellery by Stephanie Gottlieb, while her make-up was courtesy of Charlotte Tilbury.
One thing we know for sure is that the gown was months in the making. Spears revealed back in November that Donatella was working on her wedding dress when she uploaded a series of images to Instagram, while she also shared images back in March of herself posing with the designer and Asghari, who commented on the image: "Versacney".
Spears has had a long history with Versace, wearing the house for various red-carpet and on-stage appearances over the years, while she has always maintained a great friendship with Donatella personally, who was outwardly supportive of the #FreeBritney movement, which saw Spears finally removed from her conservatorship.
Many details about the big day are still being kept under wraps, but other famous faces in attendance included Paris Hilton and her mother Kathy Hilton, as well as actress Drew Barrymore.
