It’s well established that Brie Larson actually is Captain Marvel IRL. I mean, have you seen her gym snapshots on Instagram? Well, Brie just dropped a few more fitspo posts that’ll have you setting up a chin-up bar at yours ASAP.
The first one features Brie at the gym (no shocker there) on New Year’s Eve. “@risemovement observes no holidays for training 🥵,” she wrote in the caption, referencing her go-to gym, Rise. In the video, Brie can be seen walking up to a chin-up bar and proceeding to work her way through a ton of pull-ups like it’s NBD.
“Woo!” she says as she gracefully comes down afterward. And as the 32-year-old actress walks toward her phone to turn off the video, it’s hard to miss her killer core.
Of course, super fans cheered her on in the comments. “No rest for the Captain of the universe ❤️🔥,” one wrote. “My CAPTAIN is UNSTOPPABLE 🌟💪🏼,” another said. “Strongest Avenger 😍,” chimed a commenter.
Another post basically gives a highlight reel of what Brie was up to around the holidays, including showing off her super strong core and arms in a cool corset and high-waisted jeans combo. “Snaps from the end of the year 😇,” she captioned the pics.
Of course, Brie has been totally candid about the fact that she puts in some seriously hard work at the gym. In November, she dropped a video of herself doing pushups with heavy-looking chains draped over her torso, as one does.
She also shared a video before that, showing herself reaching a new fitness milestone. “Sometimes I surprise myself! Thanks @risemovement for helping me reach new heights!” Brie captioned a clip of herself crushing six reps of weighted squats using a gigantic barbell.
Brie also does kettlebell squats with extra resistance, planks with an extra 45 pounds of weight (because, why not?), and even one-armed pull-ups.
But Brie doesn’t just focus on her health at the gym—she’s also a super healthy eater. Her nutritionist, Dr. Philip Goglia told People that Brie had a teaspoon of almond butter and all-fruit jam or preserves every morning while she was training for Captain Marvel. “The most recent science has shown that a little bit of fat and a little bit of simple sugar will actually increase intensity rate while you train early in the morning,” he explained, adding, “that really does start your engine for you.”
Brie would follow that up with a protein shake or eggs and a “bridge meal” of fruit pieces before lunch. Her mid-day meal was usually chicken and veggies, and Brie would have two more snacks before dinner, ending her day with more fruit as a bedtime snack.
Pass the almond butter.
