The Bridgerton cast are used to their crinolines, corsets and tail coats, which is why they unsurprisingly stole the show at this year's Met Gala.

This year the gala's theme - 'In America: An Anthology of Fashion' - saw A-listers including Blake Lively, Billie Eilish and more sport regency-style costumes with skin-baring cuts, figure-honouring silhouettes and modern-day embellishments.

Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma), who made her debut for season two, smouldered in a Moschino look from the Italian house's creative director Jeremy Scott on the night.

Her outfit comprised of a gilded crop top and liquid-like maxi skirt which culminated in an undulating, floor-sweeping hem. As for her beauty, she sported a slick, glossy hair do and was without her usual Bridgerton tiara.

Ashley previously told Glamour she 'had a lot of pain' wearing corsets for season two of Bridgerton, saying: 'I think I tore my shoulder at one point.'

The actor wasn't the only one to navigate away from her on-screen character for the Met Gala.

Phoebe Dynevor, who made her first appearance on the series in 2021, as Daphne Basset, stunned in a gothic semi-sheer peplum dress from Louis Vuitton's SS22 runway.

The gauzy, vampish design was complete with intricate embroidery and offset by a layered voluminous trim around the waist. As for her hair, she styled her red locks into tightly waved mermaid-like curls.

She shared a glimpse of her skincare regime with fans on Instagram ahead of taking to the red carpet, which included Sunday Riley's Good Genes treatment, which 'plumps, exfoliates, brightens and clarifies'.

Former ELLE UK cover stat Nicola Coughlan, who portrays Penelope Featherington, aka the infamous Lady Whistledown on Bridgerton, also attended the annual event.

In comparison to her cast members, Coughlan was dressed most like the character she plays, wearing a voluminous black and pink Richard Quinn ballgown, complete with feather trims and glittering floral embellishment.

Coughlan showed a sneak peek of her pre-Met Gala prep hours prior to the event, which included a face mask, a make-up look by Neil Young (courtesy of Pat McGrath) and hair done by Halley Brisker.

Bridgerton alum Rege-Jean Page also marked the occasion with a typically dapper look, too. He wore a velvet blazer atop a silk shirt, side-striped trousers and tonal loafers.
