Bridgerton's Rege-Jean Page made his debut on Saturday Night Live at the weekend, and unveiled a hidden talent that had fans swooning faster than he can lick a silver teaspoon.

The 31-year-old actor showcased his impressive singing voice as he launched into his rendition of The Righteous Brothers' Unchained Melody, after jokingly insisting he was nothing like his dashing Bridgerton alter ego, the Duke of Hastings during his monologue.

"I'm shy, emotional, it’s hard for me to talk about myself because, well, I just want to listen," he said. “I like to sing silly little songs." He then won over the audience with his pitch-perfect performance of Unchained Melody.

Page also referenced his steamy shenanigans in the Shondaland period drama, declaring: "The show that made everyone turn to their mums and say, ‘Never mind, I don’t think we should watch this together'. And because of that, people may associate me with being this smoldering, sensual smoke show. But I assure you I’m just a regular guy."

As part of the skit, the star then slipped into a sultry tone and deadpanned straight to camera: "I want us to have fun together, to explore each other."

He was later joined by SNL cast members Shrill's Aidy Bryant, Ego Nwodim and Chloe Fineman, who dressed up as Daphne Bridgerton. When Page asked the stars what their favourite parts of the show were, they referred to sex scenes by referencing how many minutes into a particular episode they were.

"That's a character. None of that is real," Page replied, before gently sweeping an eyelash off Bryant's face and telling her to make a wish.

"My wish was rated R," she quipped.

Bridgerton season two will begin filming in the spring.
