Bridgerton star Golda Rosheuvel has reportedly married her partner Shireen Mulan in a “low-key” wedding.

54 year old Golda, who plays Queen Charlotte in the popular Netflix show, has been in a relationship with playwright and theatre-maker Shireen for over a decade and the pair allegedly made things official by tying the knot at the end of last year.

“Golda and Shireen have been together a long time – long before Golda found fame with Bridgerton. They have been through a lot together. And last year they decided the timing was right to make things official and tie the knot,” a source told the Mirror.

They added: “It was the complete opposite of a Bridgerton-style wedding – there were no extravagant displays or hundreds of guests. The wedding itself was incredibly low key. But it felt right for the two of them and their friends and family are so happy for them both.”

OK! has contacted representatives for Golda Rosheuvel for comment.

TV viewers may recognise Golda for her portrayal of Queen Charlotte on Netflix’s Bridgerton, having appeared on the show since its launch in 2020. Her character even secured a spin-off miniseries last year.

With part one of series three of Bridgerton out now, and part two set to be released later this month, Golda still remains to be a key part in the show - though the most recent series pays particular attention to the blossoming love story between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

Despite becoming a familiar face to viewers at home, Golda has revealed that she didn’t initially audition for her role of Queen Charlotte and she first auditioned for the role of Lady Danbury. “I only had a few hours to audition for Charlotte and that was a different ball game altogether. I knew her instantly. I knew the woman; The woman was my mother. I knew her in my gut and we did [the audition] in 45 minutes to an hour, and that was it,” she told Elle.

“It just sat so easily in my body and in my thought process – the words were there. Sometimes that happens and that’s the joy.”

Meanwhile, speaking to woman&home the actress opened up about how she makes sure to channel Queen Charlotte’s confidence. “It’s about being authentic – about knowing who you are. Being generous to yourself in the low moments. Having trust that you can get through and giving yourself respect to yourself in those times. So joy and the celebration of the highs really are strengthened by that,” she said.
