A 2025 bride has shared her strict bridal party rules.

The woman took to Instagram on Jan. 19 to list her "rules for a bridal party." A few hours later, a screenshot of the lengthy rules was uploaded on Reddit's "Wedding Shaming" forum, leading users on the platform to deem her a "bridezilla."

Each rule begins with "It’s NOT your day," and focuses on appeasing the bride. But it's unclear whether or not the six stern rules are meant to be taken seriously or as a joke.

Her first rule sets the tone for the rest: "Do what the bride asks or don’t be in the wedding."

The sequential rules are equally as stern, highlighting the importance of keeping the bride in the spotlight and not causing any wedding day issues.

The bride-to-be's second rule focuses on the bridal party's appearance. While hair "can be flexible" depending on style, makeup is uncompromising.

"It’s NOT your day. If the bride wants makeup or certain hair for everyone, and you don’t wear makeup — don’t be in the wedding," she wrote of her second rule. "It’s usually the ones who scream 'I don’t want all that' who end up looking less flattering than everyone else."

Rules No. 3 through No. 5 are concerned about the bridesmaids' actions.

"3) It’s NOT your day. Act how you would want YOUR bridal party to act, IF it was your day," she continued. "4) It’s NOT your day. You look jealous when you object to every little thing, ESPECIALLY things you have NOT paid for. Be grateful or don’t be in the wedding. 5) You are TEAM BRIDE. If you would wish to act like anything less, switch to TEAM GUEST. Have a seat and throw rice (preferably uncooked)."

The future bride ended her list with regulations about finances.

"6) It’s NOT your day. If you can’t afford to be in the wedding, let the bride know up front," she wrote. "Don’t accept and then penny pinch, ESPECIALLY if it’s one year or more out. Plan accordingly."

"WILL BE SHARING THIS EVERYDAY TIL THE WEDDING. 💒," she concluded.

There are no comments yet on the Instagram post. However, nearly 200 comments have been left on Reddit. The majority of Redditors were upset with the rules, calling them "self-centered."

"At least she's giving everyone a daily chance to join TEAM NOT GOING," one user commented, with another person adding, "I’ll be joining team f--- that."

Others countered that some of the bride-to-be's points were actually reasonable, but should have been worded less "arrogantly."

"I think part of it is that some of the things are reasonable if they were said in a normal way (i.e. you should definitely have a conversation with the bride if money is going to be an issue for you and may limit what you can afford)," one person commented in part. "But it’s the tone and the condescension of the post, why be so aggressive about the whole thing?"
