Avid sports fans will surely be first in line for these four new penthouses that overlook Lord’s Cricket Ground in St John’s Wood.

Architecture practice Stiff + Trevillion designed the airspace development from LandCap that sits atop the recently refurbished Lord’s View One apartment block.

Floor-to-ceiling glazing and private roof terraces offer views right over the pitch, so residents will be able to watch the cricket from the comfort of their own homes.

Each penthouse has a kitchen and breakfast room with a wall of glass facing the cricket grounds. The 2.9-metre-high ceilings maximise the views over the London skyline.

Designed for entertaining, each property has dining rooms that can seat between eight to ten people, and the kitchen includes a wine and champagne fridge.

The roof terraces have a cocktail bar overlooking Lord’s and an outdoor built-in barbecue and kitchen.

Interiors include bespoke oak joinery, and the three bedrooms per apartment all come with ensuite bathrooms clad in bookmatched marble.

Andrew Lock, development partner of LandCap, said that they anticipated the penthouses would appeal to international buyers.

“We anticipate they will attract global interest particularly in countries where cricket is popular including Britain, India, South Africa, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand,” said Lock.

“St John’s Wood is extremely popular with American families, and we believe they will like the large entertaining spaces, the American luxury hotel suite style bedrooms and the wonderful abundance of outside living space.”

Albion Nord designed the show apartments, which feature cricket-themed touches and antique furniture pieces.

The homes are equipped with individual climate control for rooms, a home automation system, and full fibre unlimited data broadband. Each penthouse is accessed by new high speed lifts and has two parking spaces kitted out with electric vehicle charging points.

“The penthouses are a truly unique opportunity to buy large duplex residences which are like houses in the sky,” said Rakan McKinnon, Co-Founder of LandCap

“With the best roof gardens in St John’s Wood, you can entertain and watch cricket matches taking place in Lord’s.”

Ranging in size from 2,067 to 2,368 square feet, two of the penthouses are currently on the market for £7.75 million and £8.35 million with Knight Frank and DDRE Global. The latter estate agency will be familiar to fans of Netflix’s Buying London, which follows DDRE Global’s super prime property deals made in London and beyond.

Lord’s Cricket Ground itself is also due to get a revamp, with plans unveiled in April for new terraces, stands and a roof rumoured to have a £60 million budget.
