Together with the Women's Prize for Fiction, Good Housekeeping has launched the Futures initiative to highlight the incredible talent of the next generation of female writers and support them to have the long and illustrious careers we think they deserve.
From the hundreds put forward by their publishers, the Futures judges have picked 10 finalists and you can read more about each of these talented women by clicking on their names below.

You’ll now have the chance to meet these 10 amazing writers and ask your questions about their work and inspiration over drinks this summer.
Guests will also get the opportunity to speak to the judges of the shortlist, including celebrated author Kate Mosse, Good Housekeeping's Books editor Jo Finney and editor-in-chief Gaby Huddart to learn more about the selection process and the Futures initiative.
Taking place on June 23rd in the elegant setting of Carlton House Terrace, beautifully scented by Zoflora, in the heart of London’s St James’s, this is an event not to be missed.
Tickets cost £40 and include two drinks tokens as well as a special 100th anniversary goodie bag to take home.
After meeting these talented writers and reading more about their work, don’t forget to vote to pick the ultimate Futures winner. Voting closes on 1 October 2022 with winners announced in the December 2022 issue of Good Housekeeping.

A special evening event with the six shortlisted authors will take place at 7pm, chaired by this year’s Chair of Judges, Mary Ann Sieghart.
This event - an annual highlight in the literary calendar - will feature readings and interviews with all six of the 2022 shortlisted authors and a live audience Q&A.
