New Book Claims Obama Took Coke, Slept With Women And 'Considered A Gay Relationship' While At College

A new book about President Barack Obama appease to confirm what we already knew: the ex-POTUS lived a healthy college life like a normal young person.

Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama, which was written by Pulitzer-prize winning biographer and historiam David Garrow, will be published later this month.

In it Garrow speaks to a former lover of Obama who claims they slept together on their first date, that he took cocaine with his pals and 'considered' having a gay relationship with his professor.

First the ex-lover then. Genevieve Cook met the ex-president at a New Year's Eve party in 1983 when he 22 and she was 25.

Cook, an Australian and daughter of a diplomat, grew up travelling throughout the world, just like Obama.

In a private memoir she wrote: "The thing that connected us is that we both came from nowhere – we really didn't belong."

She recalled a dinner date round Obama's place in the flat he shared with two mates.

"We went and talked in his bedroom. And then I spent the night. It all felt very inevitable."

Cook was so impressed with his lovemaking she wrote a poem about it.

As for the drug taking, which Obama admitted do doing in his teens if not his twenties, the book claims Genevieve saw him take cocaine with his friends Hasan Chandoo, Imad Hussain and Sohale Siddiqi at Occidental College, Los Angeles, but nowhere near as much as the others: "For every five lines that somebody did, he would have done half."

Elsewhere in the book is the slightly more confusing passage regarding his relationship with professor Lawrence Goldyn.

"Obama wrote somewhat elusively to his first intimate girlfriend that he had thought about and considered gayness but ultimately decided that a same-sex relationship would be less challenging and demanding than developing one with the opposite sex."

Barack and Godyn developed a close friendship instead.

The claims, though amusing, hardly carry the career-threatening magnitude of the past (even if Obama is already out of office). In our age of yearning 'authentic' politicians over 'careerists', it's actually quite comforting to know BO did college like a normal person rather than our groomed-for-power Eton set with their behind-closed-down restaurant smashing and pig head violating.
