Blake Lively fans are in for a treat, as the actress is set to star as the lead in an upcoming adaptation of Lady Killer, a Dark Horse Comics title.

Blake, who we love off-screen as much as we do on it, has teamed up with Juno and Jennifer's Body writer Diablo Cody for a new feature-length take on Lady Killer, a 2015 title from the company who brought us the Umbrella Academy series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blake will star and produce the project for Netflix, while Diablo will pen the script.

First launched in 2015, Lady Killer was originally written by Joëlle Jones and Jamie S Rich, with Rich – who's previously written and drawn for DC's Catwoman – providing the artwork.

Drawing inspiration from 1950s advertising, Lady Killer tells the story of a picture-perfect housewife from that era, who also happens to lead a secret double-life as a killer for hire.

Excited? Us too.

Speaking of Umbrella Academy, the Netflix hit is currently cracking on with filming for season three, with star Elliot Page recently sharing a behind-the-scenes selfie alongside co-star Emmy Raver-Lampman.
