Something huge has happened. You know what it is. Mean Girls has finally landed on Netflix, meaning we can watch it all day, every day, forever. Now, that is so fetch. So, while you're on your fifth Mean Girls round of the day, here's a very interesting fact about the iconic 2004 film to add to your trivia bank. It turns out that Blake Lively auditioned for a major role in the film and was almost cast as one the The Plastics, losing out at the last minute.
The Gossip Girl star was actually lined up to play the role of Karen, one of the three members of the 'Plastics' who says her breasts and predicts the weather and who Janis describes as "one of the dumbest girls you will ever meet".
Lively reportedly auditioned for the role and got pretty far - as far as final screen tests, but was beaten out at the last minute by Amanda Seyfried who went on to become the Karen Smith we know and love today. Plus, it wasn't all bad for Blake, three years later she was cast as Serena Van Der Woodsen in Gossip Girl, the role which launched her to stardom.
Recently, Lively opened up about her body insecurities following the birth of her third daughter with husband Ryan Reynolds. She spoke about how none of the brands she usually wore had samples that fit her body after giving birth, "... instead of feeling proud, I felt insecure. Simply because I didn’t fit into clothes. How silly is that in retrospect."
