Billie Piper's unflinching dark comedy drama I Hate Suzie will return for a second season, Sky has confirmed.
"We are so excited to continue the journey of Suzie Pickles. Filming starts in 2022. More news to come (our lips are sealed until then)," Sky announced on Twitter.
The series follows Piper's titular Suzie, a former child star who is on the brink of a career comeback after securing a coveted role in a new Disney series. But her life begins to spectacularly combust when she becomes the victim of a phone hack, with intimate photos of her being leaked online.

Written by Piper and Succession's Lucy Prebble, the show also featured Leila Farzad as Suzie's best friend turned agent Naomi, who attempts to curtail the damage the photos inflict upon Suzie's professional and personal life. The Crown's Daniel Ings plays Suzie's insufferable husband Cob, Matthew Jordan-Caws as their young son Frank, who is deaf and communicates via sign language, and Small Axe's Nathaniel Martello-White stars as Carter, the director who is revealed to be having an affair with Suzie.
The eight-part series followed Suzie through different stages of grief as she experiences the fallout from the hack in every aspect of her life. Piper previously said she wanted her drama to feel like a "literal panic attack" as Suzie unravels, warts and all.
"I felt strongly about it being a very sensory experience, as if it was happening to the viewer. For the first few episodes, we were like these should feel like literal panic attack," Piper told Vulture. "So when we were talking to the director, Georgi Banks-Davies, we found the person who had that instinct as well, and wanted to lean into that, even though it’s not always that easy."
The finale featured Suzie dealing with the discovery that she is pregnant, and finally leaving her toxic husband, while also turning her back on Naomi.
The second series of I Hate Suzie will begin filming in 2022.
