Billie Eilish Just Got a Massive Back Tat and the Internet Has Thoughts
Since she burst onto the music scene in 2016, Billie Eilish has unapologetically expressed her signature edgy style through her music and fashion choices. At the beginning of Billie's pop culture reign, she opted for baggier silhouettes so fans and critics would focus on her music rather than her body. She would later embrace dresses and tighter clothing as she progressed throughout her career—so, when she first appeared on the cover of British Vogue in satin lingerie and revealed her gnarly thigh tat, she pretty much broke the Internet.
Although fans have already seen some of Billie's edgy tattoos since then, the "What Was I Made For?" singer dropped pics of her latest ink in a new Instagram photo dump, where she showed off a *massive* abstract back tat in the fourth slide:
The piece, which appeared to be incomplete as ink was smeared across the singer's back, prompted mixed reactions in her comments section. Of course, the Billie Hive didn't hold back.
"Back tatt so fye," wrote Billie's friend and content creator, Quen Blackwell. Others chimed in, writing, "TATTOO REVEAL OMFG" and "theee back tattooooo?"
"Please show us the fully colored in version of your tattoo as it looks absolutely killer," someone else commented, requesting a reveal of the finished ink.
Twitter also put in their two cents on Billie's back tat. I mean, the tweets speak for themselves:
I thought this was a stranger things portal💀😭

Billie first got inked in 2020 after she swept at the Grammys, according to a 2021 Rolling Stone cover story. "She got a giant black dragon on her right thigh in November and 'Eilish,' in an ornate, gothic font, in the middle of her chest the day after the 2020 Grammys," the report reads. The musician also has fairies from her favorite childhood book tattooed on her hand, in addition to her new backpiece.
