Billie Eilish felt like a 'new person' after she dyed hair blonde
Billie Eilish felt like an entirely "new person" after she dyed her hair platinum blonde.
For her cover photoshoot for the June 2021 issue of British Vogue, the Happier Than Ever hitmaker opted to switch her signature black and neon green locks for a bright blonde shade.
Billie's glamorous makeover hit headlines at the time, and while fans were initially shocked by the transformation, the star was thrilled with the end result.
"I couldn't go anywhere with that (green) hair because it was so obviously me. I wanted anonymity," she shared in an interview for ELLE magazine. "I went to a park with a friend, and I was like, 'No, I can't take off my hood!' I was terrified of the paparazzi and these stalkers I've had. But my friend was like, 'Don't worry: You're okay. Nothing's gonna happen.' And I took my hood off, and I felt like a new person."
Billie went on to note that there was no real motive behind the blonde dye - she was simply ready for a change.
"I had no goal of, 'This is going to make everybody think differently of me.' I've had different-coloured hair and vibes for everything I've ever done. I wanted this album to have its own thing," the 19-year-old added.
