'Biggest injustice ever on Bake Off': Fans can't believe who the judges sent home in Biscuit Week
The Great British Bake Off viewers have been shocked by the way the cookie crumbled in Biscuit Week, as Mak was sent home despite Rowan failing to finish his tasks again.
Last week, Rowan had been warned by the judges to come up with simpler bakes and make sure he finished them.
But even though he made the same mistakes again in week two, he managed to save his place in the tent while Mak was voted out.
Rowan staying over Mak is actually one of the biggest injustices ever on Bake Off. Absolutely robbed. #GBBO

Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith were torn between sending home Mak or Rowan, who underwhelmed them with his unfinished florentine waistcoats and clumsy biscuit lighthouse.

Fans of the show were left shocked by their decision.
You cannot fault Rowan for his ambition. #GBBO pic.twitter.com/d3nVrDrUPB

There’s absolutely NO WAY that Mak deserved to go over Rowan. Rowan was consistently underperforming both weeks and Mak had some pretty decent bakes. Utter rubbish! #GBBO

Sorry, but that's not been based on baking. Feel sorry for Mak. Rowan has been woeful so far #GBBO

What an absolute scam! Get rid of Mak for been consistently just OK but save Rowan who’s been consistently bad? #GBBO

The biscuit structure challenge has become one of the most anticipated tasks of the series, with past creations of note including a gingerbread colosseum fashioned by eventual winner John Whaite.
But on Tuesday, it proved to be the downfall of Mak, who crumbled under the pressure of fashioning a tea set out of biscuit.
Watch: Paul Hollywood's legendary handshake is back
We’re sad to say there’ll be no return of the Mak next week. Such a close call, but you can feel so proud and it’s been a pleasure having you in the tent. Best of luck with the novel! #GBBO pic.twitter.com/gqtA8rkvHF

While Biscuit Week may have seen Mak ejected from the competition, it was much more successful for Lottie, who won the first Hollywood Handshake of the series – always an impressive feat, but even more so in a year when handshakes are frowned upon in any other context.
Bake Off’s stars and production crew formed an isolated bubble to allow them to shoot the series, meaning the tent was one of the few places where a handshake didn’t need to be replaced by an elbow bump this year.
The advantage of being in a covid-secure bio bubble during Bake Off filming - Hollywood Handshakes are allowed! 🤝 #GBBO pic.twitter.com/ObTvuL3oeR

Remarkable that the only handshake in Britain since March was that 'Hollywood Handshake' on #GBBO. Proper escapism from Covid miserableness.

Viewers were also tickled by an innuendo of the sort that Bake Off is famous for, as judge Prue Leith commented on Mark’s nut-filled florentines.
She told him: “I remember worrying a bit about your very large nuts.”

It was a better week for Dave, who won Star Baker and the technical challenge this time - last week, Sura managed to knock his tray of cakes to the ground as she tried to swat a fly away from the food, but then went on to win the task herself.
Last week, Loriea became the first baker to be sent home, so Mak’s departure leaves 10 contestants battling it out for the series 11 title.
The Great British Bake Off continues on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
