The big school milestones Princess Charlotte will reach in September

Princess Charlotte is about to reach two big milestones as she begins the new school year in September.

The Princess, who is currently enjoying her summer holidays with the rest of the Cambridge clan, will be returning to Thomas's Battersea school in South West London with her brother Prince George in a matter of weeks.

Charlotte will be entering Year 2 at the start of Michaelmas term on 9 September, which is the final year of infant or lower school education. This will mark the end of an era for the young Princess before she joins George, who is going into year 4, at the junior school.

The six-year-old royal will also accomplish another educational milestone during the new school year, as all Year 2 and Year 6 students are required to sit the SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) to evaluate academic progress in reading, math and english.

Previously the exams were cancelled due to Covid, with all students now expected to sit the SATS during the summer term in May 2022.

No doubt Charlotte will be able to get tips from her eight-year-old brother George, who has previously sat the exams and is going into his second year in junior school.

While younger brother Prince Louis, age 3, who started nursery at Willcocks Nursery School in April, is expected to follow in his sibling's footsteps and will likely enrol in the £17,000 a year school in September 2022.

Thomas's is known for being one of the most prestigious primary school's in London, providing children with a "forward-thinking and outward-looking [education], with values at its heart".

Wishing Charlotte a wonderful start to the new school year!
