'Big Breakfast' fans call for full comeback as one-off return gets rave reviews
The Big Breakfast has made a triumphant return to morning TV after nearly 20 years, with viewers calling for it to make a permanent comeback.
Channel 4 revived the breakfast magazine show in a one-off special for their Black to Front campaign, a day of programming that champions Black talent, and signed up AJ Odudu and Mo Gilligan as hosts.
Odudu and Gilligan proved so popular with fans that by the end of the show, people were asking for Channel 4 to bring back the show permanently with the pair at the helm.

One viewer tweeted: "Make the #Bigbreakfast permanent! We need this type of energy (and "diversity") in the morning . Love to see it"
Someone else added: "#BigBreakfast is a vibeeeeee. Make it permanent please @Channel4"

The Big Breakfast was a huge TV hit in the 90s, running from 1992 to 2002 and featuring outrageous moments at early hours of the day, including Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence enjoying an intimate chat, Victoria Beckham revealing David liked to borrow her knickers, and Jenny McCarthy sparking complaints after getting a blindfolded Vinnie Jones to grope her bottom.
Its original presenters included Denise Van Outen, Chris Evans, Gaby Roslin and Johnny Vaughan.

Friday's rebooted show saw Odudu and Gilligan joined by Loose Women star Judi Love who interviewed celebrities including Nile Rodgers, while guest Mel B revealed that the Spice Girls would be touring in 2023.
Odudu, who is set to star in Strictly Come Dancing this year alongside Love, joked that alien puppets Zig and Zag who featured in the original series hadn't been able to return because of Home Secretary Priti Patel.
She said: "Sad news, they both got seriously affected by the great moth pandemic of 2005 and emigrated back to the Planet Zog. Now Priti Patel won't let them back in."
Channel 4's Black to Front day will also feature a special episode of Hollyoaks tonight with a guest cameo by Jamelia who will play a friend of Martine Devereaux (Kelle Bryan).
