Beyonce and Jay Z paid tribute to the Duchess of Sussex last night as they accepted their Brit Award for Best International Group. The couple recorded a video message standing in front of a portrait of Meghan as Queen, complete with crown.

The video message showed the camera opening on the portrait, before panning out to reveal the couple standing in front of it. After thanking the Brits for the award, they then turn back round to look at the painting.

Beyonce later took to Instagram to explain that the tribute was in honour of Black History month, before going on to congratulate the duchess on her pregnancy.

"In honour of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas," she wrote. "Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy."

The couple wore matching suits to accept their award, with Beyonce in a floral two-piece by Peter Pilotto - the designer label behind Princess Eugenie's royal wedding dress.
