The weekend's TV highlights begin with a new series of The Witcher at Netflix, and the final of Walk The Line at ITV which will reveal the winner of the huge cash prize.

Saturday's big event is the Strictly Come Dancing grand final - now minus AJ Odudu - while BBC One leads into the live show with a rebooted version of The Weakest Link fronted by Romesh Ranganathan.

On Sunday, there's a chance to see this year's Royal Variety Performance on ITV, while BBC One launches star-studded new thriller The Girl Before.

Friday

The Witcher - Netflix

Season two of the fantasy series starring Henry Cavill returns to Netflix tonight.

Expect more battle scenes, monster slaying and brooding rivalries as Geralt continues his danger-laden adventures.

The series is adapted from the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski and season two is based on his Book of Elves.

Walk The Line - ITV - 8.30pm

The new singing contest from Simon Cowell reaches its final tonight as the first ever winner of the series is crowned.

Early episodes were called confusing by viewers as they struggled to understand the format of acts betting on themselves to win, but perhaps it will all become clear as we see who bags the £500,000 jackpot.

Maya Jama hosts the show which is judged by Gary Barlow, Alesha Dixon, Dawn French and Craig David.

The 2021 grand final has arrived, but in dramatic fashion as AJ Odudu has had to pull out of the contest at the last minute with an ankle injury.

However, Rose Ayling-Ellis and John Whaite are still ready to do battle for the Glitterball Trophy - who will take the crown from 2020 champion Bill Bailey?

Comedian and presenter Alan Carr hosts his debut Royal Variety Performance from the world-famous Royal Albert Hall.  

Tonight’s star-studded extravaganza in aid of the Royal Variety Charity includes exclusive performances from Ed Sheeran, Sir Rod Stewart, Elvis Costello, Anne Marie, Years & Years as well as US jazz singer Gregory Porter and musician James Blunt.

More show-stopping moments are provided by the cast of the hottest ticket in town; Moulin Rouge the Musical and Matilda the Musical who celebrate ten years in the West End. Plus, there’s sensational stand-up comedy from Bill Bailey, Josh Widdicombe, Judi Love and Chris McCausland.

The breakout star of smash hit movie The Greatest Showman – Keala Settle joins to perform the anthemic ‘This Is Me’ as well as soprano Carly Paoli and singer Jane McDonald, who team up for a special duet.

Topping off an evening of truly world class entertainment, Cirque Du Soleil also return to the Royal Variety stage with a stunning excerpt from their new show Luzia plus hand balancing act The Messoudi Brothers amaze with their superhuman strength.

Another psychological thriller begins in Sunday night's drama slot, continuing throughout the next few nights.

When a woman gets the chance to move into an ultra-modern house, she thinks she's struck gold - until the strange architect who owns it reveals his list of rules for living there, and she starts to become curious about the previous tenant.

Starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jessica Plummer and David Oyelowo.
