On the mountain

Brittaniahutte


It may be a 15-minute walk from the top of the Egginerjoch T-bar, but the trek to Brittaniahutte is worth it for the ambience of a real mountain refuge and the stunning views. Food is simple (soups, pasta, sausages, rösti) and cheap by Swiss standards.

Gletschergrotte


Just off to the left of the piste that runs from Spielboden back down to the village, the Gletschergrotte is a tiny atmospheric hut with a small terrace. It serves good burgers, fabulous röstis and fondues, and prides itself on the quality of its home‑made cakes and desserts.

Waldhüs Bodmen

A 10-minute walk through the woods, Waldhüs Bodmen has a glass wall in the dining room through which you can see rabbits, guinea pigs, llamas and even a camel. The hearty food includes pork chops served in a pot with bacon and mushroom sauce, fondues, pasta and rösti.
