Best manicure trends for summer, according to Khloe Kardashian’s nail artist
If you’ve ever double tapped a picture of Zendaya, Shay Mitchell or any of the Kardashian/Jenner fam, it’s likely that you’ve also admired Chaun Legend’s work. The nail artist has tended to the manicures of Hollywood’s A-list celebs on major red carpet moments (remember Zendaya in that yellow dress? Chaun was on nails), top TV moments (Khloe Kardashian is a regular client) and countless photoshoots.
And now, you can get a manicure by Chaun, too… well sort of. The nail artist has teamed up with Lottie London to create a collection of false press-on nails and each one features Chaun’s signature meticulous designs for spring and summer.
But this collection isn’t a range of (not so) groundbreaking floral designs for spring. Nope. Expect to find designs inspired by Chaun’s favourite love for his favourite city, Los Angeles, as well as the most loved and requested nail art designs amongst Chaun’s A-list clientele. A matchy, matchy manicure with Khloe? That practically makes us besties, right?
Here, Chaun fills us in on the biggest nail trends of the season…
On the most popular nail art design amongst celebs:
“French tips are the most requested design and I've done it in all kinds of colours and shapes – I don't know what it is about it, but everybody just loves it. And that's kind of how I came up with the French Twist. The standard traditional French tips were requested so much that thought there had to be a way for me to revamp it to where I don't get bored of it and then, I added swirls.”
On the nail shapes that have taken over Instagram:
“It used to be the coffin shape, but now I have a few clients that are requesting super, super razor-sharp stilettos. That, and the longer square shape has been pretty popular, also.”
On the colours we’re going to see everywhere:
“For colours, I’ve been seeing magentas and Bottega green a lot – I’m just so drawn to them right now and I think they’re going to be the big shades for summer.”

“These swirls are one of the most requested designs. I definitely wanted to add this to the collection because I want the designs to be something that everybody will love and able to wear.”
“I love graffiti art. Anything graffiti, I'm drawn to and notice it – when you're going downtown, when you're cruising the freeways, it's all over [the city]. It's just one of the things that reminds me of LA, so I had to have this in the collection.”
“This one is called Sunset Strip because it just reminds me of when you're cruising down LA, sunset... it's just the colours.”
“Last but not least, this one is more of an art deco design. My favourite colour is emerald and I started my nail art with a bunch of lines and abstract designs, so, I thought that was perfect.”
