Despite none of us Brits having a clue what Black Friday was a decade ago, it seems that the sale shopping event of the year is here to stay in the UK. As someone that despises the frenzy of sales, though, I have to say that Black Friday can feel incredibly overwhelming. My Instagram feed becomes a muddle of flash promotions while my inbox is suddenly overflowing with offers from brands that I didn't even know had my email address.
There is, however, a way to survive Black Friday without needing a complete digital detox and that's to spend some time thinking about your shopping list before the craziness begins. I pretty much always have a list of things that I want to buy on my phone so that when sale season comes around I can make sure that I'm investing in items that I really want rather than being tempted by frivolous impulse purchases. And trust me—if you play your cards right, there are plenty of savvy investments to be made—particularly when it comes to beauty.
With up to 40% off everything at Feelunique to 33% off at Vichy with code BLACKFRIDAY33 (incidentally one of my favourite French pharmacy brands) there are plenty of worthwhile offers to take advantage of right now. Ahead, I've included some of the beauty products on my personal Black Friday shopping list as well as the investment items that I think are well worth splurging on thanks to the notable discounts. (FYI—the other Who What Wear editors have your Black Friday clothing deals and homeware offers covered if that's more your bag.)

Foreo Luna 2 Facial Cleansing Brush for Normal Skin (£112)
Much like how you never go back to a manual toothbrush after switching to an electric one, a facial cleansing device might seem unnecessary, but it's one of the items that I credit with actually improving the texture and natural radiance of my skin. Foreo makes the best ones, with options for sensitive and combination skin types too.
Sarah Chapman Pro Hydro-Mist Steamer (£101)
This face steamer has been on my wish list since Victoria Beckham raved about it on Instagram way back in March. Created by celebrity facialist Sarah Chapman (who gives the best facials in London), it effectively gives you the results of a salon facial in the comfort of your own home—decongesting pores, boosting dewiness and restoring moisture. Dr Dennis Gross Skincare Spectralite Faceware Pro (£366)
I've spoken openly about how I've dealt with acne and hormonal breakouts since my teenage years, and one of the few things that makes a noticeable difference to my complexion is when I go for an LED facial. Hence why this pricey but brilliant at-home device from Dr Dennis Gross is on my wish list. It uses a combination of red and blue lights to penetrate the surface of your skin, promising a reduction of acne within days and a clearing of mild to moderate breakouts within two weeks.

Vichy Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Booste (£20)
Great skincare shouldn't cost the earth, and Vichy is one of my favourite French pharmacy brands for hardworking, effective formulations. The iconic Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Booster strengthens and hydrates all skin types.

BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating SPF25 Foundation Stick (£29)

GHD Original IV Styler (£81)
If you style your hair at home most days, then Black Friday is the perfect time to invest in electrical hair tools—and when it comes to straighteners it makes sense to start with the original (and the best) GHD Styler. Celebrities and hairstylists love it and my pair has been going strong for five years already. Y

Cloud Nine Curling Wand (£89)
Although I've heard that it's possible to create beach waves with a pair of straighteners, I've never found the knack so I always have a curling wand in my arsenal. If you're similarly unskilled in the styling department then I'd recommend this versatile wand from Cloud Nine thanks to its ability to create everything from relaxed cool-girl waves to full-on glam curls—just take a larger or smaller section of hair depending on your desired effect.
Get £20 off all Cloud Nine tools on 29 November.
Augustinus Bader The Cream (£205)
The very definition of a cult product, this luxury moisturiser has had everyone from Alexa Chung to Victoria Beckham raving about it this year as well as Margot Robbie's makeup artist Pati Dubroff. As well as imparting major glow it has 30 years of research behind it and supports your skin's cell renewal to reduce signs of visible damage and support your overall skin health. Pretty damn clever.

Tom Ford Private Blend Neroli Portofino Eau de Parfum (£192)
If you have a signature scent or there's a new fragrance that you really want to invest in, then Black Friday is the perfect time to do so. Tom Ford's iconic Neroli Portofino has a whole host of celebrity and beauty editor fans thanks to its crisp, citrusy aroma that will help add a little Sicilian sunshine to grey winter days.

Oskia Renaissance Brightlight (£67.50)
Vitamin C has to be one of the most-talked-about ingredients of the year, but it's for a reason—it really works. Since I've incorporated a vitamin C serum into my skincare routine I've seen a reduction in the appearance of pigmentation and acne scarring as well as a boost in my skin's overall brightness. This award-winning one from Oskia has been on my to-try list for a while.
