As Easter weekend creeps ever closer, it’s impossible to avoid the copious amount of chocolate being advertised to us, but while we’re partial to a chocolate egg (or several), there's an alternative gift available this year that we’d probably prefer.

Following the continued popularity of beauty advent calendars, beauty eggs are emerging just in time for our second favourite public holiday. Whether you’re looking to treat yourself or a friend, they make perfect present for beauty lovers of every age.

Filled with a range of products at excellent value for money, here are the best luxury beauty eggs you can get your hands on this year…

Lookfantastic’s limited edition beauty boxes are known for their value for money and the Beauty Easter Egg is no different, containing seven products worth a total of £250, being sold for just £65.

Covering skincare and haircare, the wonderfully nourishing essentials will help boost your Springtime glow with cleansing masks and treatments, including Elemis' anti-ageing Advanced Eye Treatment (itself worth £45).

In even better news, Lookfantastic beauty box subscribers will receive an extra £10 discount on the beauty egg, which will also apply if you purchase a subscription at the same time as the limited edition Easter offering.

The full list of products included are:

  1. Rodial Vit C Glow Tonic
  2. Balance Me Radiance Face Oil
  3. Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment
  4. Elemis Pro-Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment
  5. Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumising Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose Extracts
  6. Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask
  7. Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair

Following the success of last year's Easter eggs, L’Occitane is releasing not one but two beauty egg options for 2020. The Cherry Blossom Easter Egg (pictured) and Almond Easter Egg contains a shower gel, body lotion and hand cream from their namesake ranges in beautifully illustrated casing. Both allow you to give the gift of relaxation to yourself or a friend.

The second alternative is the Mini Easter Eggs Set - which is a little like a collection of beauty-filled Christmas crackers. This treat is made up of four individual mini eggs. Inside each are two 10ml Shea Butter Hand Creams in a selection of different scents, including almond, rose, and classic shea butter. Priced at £24, these are the perfect buy for those opting for a sugar-free Easter this year.

L'Oreal Paris

L'Oreal Paris' two purse-friendly beauty eggs contain either a full-sized Detox Mask or Nourish Scrub, perfect for a weekend pamper session, or to counteract any overindulgence on chocolate eggs.

The full-sized product is joined by samples to complete your skincare, including a hyaluronic acid-packed moisturiser and as the eggs are now discounted to £6.59, the offering is even better value, making it the perfect opportunity to treat yourself.

Ghost fragrances is offering a pretty unique opportunity to open an Easter Egg and find a glamorous scent inside.

There are six miniature eau de toilettes available - from the brand's latest launch, Dream, to the original Ghost the fragrance, yet part of the fun is that they are offered as a lucky dip, so you won't know which you'll receive until you open your delivery.

At £6 each though, the excitement of seeing what your new signature scent might be for the summer is certainly worth it.

Glossybox, which offers a beauty box subscription service, launched its luxury beauty egg last year and it sold out in an incredible 32 minutes. This year, is likely to be exactly the same, as inside the limited edition gift are ten covetable luxury products, from brands including bareMinerals, St Tropez and Illamasqua.

For 2020, there was the additional surprise of not knowing which colour-way of egg you received. The choices are either pink, blue, yellow or even (for three lucky customers) a very special gold egg - which includes an additional Lookfantastic voucher and a deluxe spa day.
