As a singer, dancer and actor, it's fair to say Jennifer Lopez is a woman of many talents. Although Lopez is mostly recognised for her music, she actually started her career off with acting. Her first performance was in the 1997 biographic musical Selena, which not only set J Lo on the path to stardom, but also earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

From there, she landed roles in the successful romcoms The Wedding Planner, Shall We Dance? and Monster-in-Law, acting alongside Jane Fonda, Matthew McConaughey and Richard Gere. More recently, she served as an executive producer on Hustlers, for which her performance as savvy stripper Ramona earned her nominations for a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award.

Here, we take a look back at some of the best Jennifer Lopez movies to date...

J Lo and Jane Fonda make this romcom an absolute joy. Jennifer plays Charlotte (the sweetest girl you will ever meet) who falls in love and becomes engaged to (equally nice) rich boy Kevin. But when Kevin's mum (Fonda) comes on the scene, she makes it her ultimate mission to try and split the couple up.

Jennifer and Matthew McConaughey make a perfect pair in this romantic comedy. Mary Fiore (Lopez) helps couples’ dreams come true as San Francisco’s top wedding planner, although she’s yet to find it in her own life. Things finally start looking up when she meets handsome paediatrician Eddie (McConaughey) until she realises he’s the groom for the next wedding she’s planning.

The story follows her life and career as a recording artist leading up to her tragic death. Lopez’s performance saw her receive a Golden Globe nomination and helped pave the way for her acting career.

Although Lopez doesn’t lead in this film, her performance is brilliant none the less. She plays a dancer called Paulina, who meets John Clarke (Richard Gere), a lawyer who impulsively signed up for dance lessons after seeing her on his journey home. He feels like something is missing in his life, but it’s soon fulfilled by his passion for dance and a new friendship.
