LK Bennett is among the retailers offering a discount on all products on Black Friday

There are just a few days to go until Black Friday and Cyber Monday (they fall on November 29th and December 2nd this year - mark it in your diaries) but the savviest of shoppers will be keen to plan ahead before the big event later this week.

Whether you’re thinking of indulging in a spot of self-gifting or are keenly getting ahead on your Christmas shopping, there will no doubt be tonnes of bargains to be found over the highly-anticipated discounted shopping weekend.

It’s all too easy to get carried away when bargain-hunting, particularly with almost too-good-to-be-true offers like these, but the key to shopping without impulse and regret is to plan: What do you actually need? Were you planning to buy it before it went on sale? Would you pay full price for it? If the answers are yes then shop away!

We’ve put together a shopping list of the best things to look out for at a host of high street stores to keep you on the straight and narrow. Better get adding to your e-wishlists…

Classic workwear rarely goes into the summer or Christmas sales, so you won’t regret snapping up timeless pieces that you can wear now to refresh your workwear wardrobe. Opt for chic separates: avoid bold prints that’ll date quickly, and quirky cuts to ensure your buys stand the test of time.
