What a year 2018 has been, from two Royal Weddings and a royal baby, to botched Brexit negotiations and football almost coming home.

It was also a big year for beauty, with Google releasing its most searched beauty products and trends last week, and a humble eye cream coming out on top.

Filorga Time-Filler eye cream was named the most Googled beauty product of the year, a cult product that claims to be the 'first cosmetic intervention cream to emulate mesotherapy' (non surgical cosmetic treatment).

It also promises to mimic the affects of botox, peeling, lifting and injection treatments, leaving eyes wider and brighter, which we can totally get on board with.

Interest in the cream rose to new levels when it was featured in the M&S 2018 beauty advent calendar, with users being treated to a small 7ml sample of the product.

Combining 'ultra-effective' active ingredients, the cream treats the entire eyelid, including fine lines, crow's feet, dropping eyelids and dark circles. It even promises to stimulate eyelash growth.

And it turns out these promises aren't empty, with hundreds of users leaving glowing reviews of the in-demand cream. 'OMG...............best cream i have ever bought !!', wrote one reviewer.

Another added: 'This is a wonder mask. You feel like having been to a spa and your skin is new! I will be certain I have it in stock for the continuing treatments as I intend to keep using it.'

'This mask gave multi functions! brightness , radiance and moisture! love it !!,' posted another.

The cream retails at £47, but when you think of the cost of botox, peeling, lifting and injection treatments it promises to mimic, it's an absolute bargain.
