The 72nd Emmy awards may have looked considerably different to previous years, but that didn't stop the A-listers from going all out last night; whether in person or virtually.

Aside from a select handful of guests who attended the mostly empty Staples Centre Arena in Los Angeles – namely Jennifer Aniston, Zendaya, Tracee Ellis-Ross and Jason Bateman, alongside host Jimmy Kimmel – the 130-odd Emmy nominees stayed at home (with winners dialling in to accept their awards) and had to make do with dressing up in their finest outfits to watch from afar.

From Emmy-nominee Kerry Washington donning not one but two outfits for the night, to history making winner Zendaya bringing the glam factor in person, here are all the most gorgeous looks from the night, uploaded via the stars' Instagram accounts, rather than the traditional red carpet shots.
