Best dressed Brits at Emmy Awards 2018, from Thandie Newton to Emilia Clarke and Benedict Cumberbatch

Move over, Americans: The Emmy Awards 2018 was dominated by the Brits both on and off the stage.

Claire Foy, Thandie Newton and Charlie Brooker were among the British winners at the 70th edition of the awards, held in LA last night.

Welsh star Matthew Rhys took home the accolade for leading actor in a drama series and the ‘Game of Thrones’ cast scooped two awards – best drama series and supporting actor for Peter Dinklage.

The Brits continued their winning streak on the red carpet with sartorial hits from Thandie, in the pink Brandon Maxwell gown that Gigi Hadid modelled on the catwalk and Claire in a drop-waist Calvin Klein look.

‘Godless’ star Michelle Dockery opted for an ethereal Carolina Herrera dress and Millie Bobby Brown looked lovely in a voluminous number, also by Calvin Klein.

The British men looked just as sharp. ‘Stranger Things’ star Charlie Heaton ditched his usual, edgy look for a slick suit by Italian label Isaia.

Meanwhile, ‘The Crown’ actor Matt Smith wore a cropped pair of navy blue trousers.
