Amazon Prime Day is finally here. One of the biggest events in the online shopping calendar and, luckily for those of us who can't resist a bargain, it arrived again yesterday (21 June) and will be gone by midnight tonight (22 June).
While Amazon Prime Day usually takes place in July – and was actually in October in 2020 due to delays caused by the pandemic – the e-commerce giant's bargains bonanza returned this month instead.
Right up there with US-imported sale day Black Friday, the annual online shopping event is the perfect opportunity to nab yourself some tempting bargains on Amazon, whether you're investing in a big ticket tech item, stocking up on beauty buys for less or hoping to pick up some gifts for loved ones...
Here's everything you need to know about Amazon Prime Day 2021 and how to find the best deals...
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Now in its seventh year, Amazon Prime Day is the e-tailer's annual sales extravaganza, which sees products discounted across the site on everything from tech to beauty for Amazon Prime members.
It is essentially like a Black Friday sales day or deals and bargains but exclusively on its own site and only available to those who have a membership. One of the benefits of Amazon Prime Day is that all the deals are in the same place so you don't need to hop around to different retailers trying to work out who is doing the best deal.
Some discounts are available throughout Amazon Prime Day, while other "Lightning" deals are usually only on offer for a limited period, sometimes for just a matter of hours, so it pays to get in there early.
Originally lasting for 24 hours, the shopping event has now been extended to two days, giving shoppers longer to take advantage of offers.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2021?
Today and tomorrow. Amazon Prime Day started at 0.01am Monday 21 June and ends 11.59pm on Tuesday, 22 June.
How do I get Amazon Prime Day deals?
Amazon Prime deals are definitely tempting, but there's one small catch: You have to be a member to take advantage of them. Amazon Prime membership costs £7.99 a month – but the good news is you can also sign up for a 30-day free trial if you're not a member and you'll still get access to the sale.
As well as next day delivery, Amazon Prime members now enjoy a host of benefits, including access to Prime Video, so it's certainly worth trying out.
How do I find the best Amazon Prime Day deals?
With such a huge range of items on offer across multiple categories and new deals going live all the time, Amazon Prime Day is the perfect opportunity to pick up products for less, but can feel a little overwhelming.
From 7 to 20 June, Amazon anyone who spends £10 or more on small business products in Amazon’s store will receive £10 credit to use during Prime Day 2021, so why not start shopping early?
There were some early Amazon Prime Day deals knocking about ahead of the official launch date, such as more than 50% off Echo Buds wireless headphones.
