Benjamin Moore has announced Aegean Teal as its Colour of the Year for 2021.
The blue-green blend was chosen for its earthy quality and ability to beautifully enrich a space by bridging the gap between warm and cool shades.
The colour is said to express "a welcoming, lived-in quality that celebrates the connections and real moments that take place within the home," according to Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore Director of Color Marketing & Development.
Aegean Teal joins 11 other warm and tranquil shades in the wider Benjamin Moore Colour Trends 2021 palette. The palette features easy, liveable colours that reflect a sense of balance and grounding, including rosy rust tones, soft sage shades and accents of muslin and charcoal.
Speaking about the 2021 colour palette, Helen Shaw, Benjamin Moore UK Director, said: "As we spend more time at home, it’s important to create a space that feels warm and welcoming. This year's Colour of the Year is a balanced and soothing hue, softened with a touch of grey to create spaces with a casual elegance.
"The Colour Trend palette of earthy tones and rich neutrals radiate wellbeing and emotion, our homes are a space of flexibility and multifunctionality, and this palette correlates to that.
"On the warmer side of the colour wheel, the 12 colours have an organic synergy and are reminiscent of faded rumpled linen sheets in the morning and perfectly ripened fruits on the windowsill. These are colours that make your home feel even more like home, so settle in and connect."
If you're planning on redecorating in 2021, it might be a good time to think about adding colours that radiate wellbeing, promote tranquility and create a sense of balance in your space.
