Ben & Jerry’s annual Free Cone Day is back on Tuesday, April 8. Fans nationwide can stop in a scoop shop to snag a free ice cream cone. While each person can only get one scoop at a time, the ice cream chain suggests that fans get back in line as many times as they’d like for countless freebies.
Fan-favorite options like Cherry Garcia and Half Baked will be available for the deal as well as new innovations like Dulce De-lish! and Turtle Sundae. The first newbie is a salted caramel ice cream with pecan toffee pieces and caramel swirls. The latter option is ice cream with pretzel swirls and fudge-covered almonds.
Last year, Ben & Jerry’s stores gave out 1 million scoops of ice cream, per a press release. The dessert makers are hoping to have another record-breaking year.
According to the release, the unofficial holiday has been around since 1979 when co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield thanked customers for supporting them during their first Vermont winter.
