We’ve always been told that there are no rules to beauty, but how often do you actually put that mantra into practice? If you’ve long been waving a saved Instagram image of the perfect classic highlights in your hairdresser’s face, now may be the time for a change. Seeing as all sense of normality has been put on hold for the foreseeable, this New Year really is the perfect time to make an unexpected new beauty move.

Your inspiration for this transformation? Bella Hadid, of course. The model is fast becoming the Patron Saint of quick-change hairstyles, and her latest reveal is one of the most striking yet.

Posting on Instagram, Hadid debuted a distinctly Noughties new look, featuring fiery red ombré streaks framing her otherwise chocolatey lengths. The model’s colourist Jenna Perry referenced the look as "Ginger Spice energy", and revealed that the bouncing lengths are helped by a few Keratip extensions.

But Hadid's new hair wasn't the only star of the shot – fans were also quick to call out her coverable stack of rings by La Manso, the Spanish designer who also counts Miley Cyrus and Iris Law as fans.

If the nostalgic hairstyle feels familiar, that’s because it is. Dua Lipa – currently dating Hadid’s brother, Anwar – can be credited for bringing the two-tone transformation back from the brink of extinction (after all, it was last seen on the Spice Girls).

We’re not strictly suggesting you reach for the peroxide this weekend, but Hadid’s spirit of embracing change has to be admired. How about a fringe instead?
