Bella and Gigi Hadid are unrecognisable with matching shaved heads and bowl cut fringes

Just when we thought we'd seen Bella and Gigi rocking every hairstyle imaginable, from goddess braids and slicked back ponytails to baby bangs, the supermodel sisters deliver something completely unexpected. Forget pixie crops and platinum locks, Bella and Gigi took things to new heights at the Marc Jacobs AW22 show with buzzcut mullets complete with bleached brows and bowl cut fringes.

Beauty, meanwhile, took on a more utilitarian, dystopian vibe. Bald caps were used by famed hairstylist Duffy to create the illusion of shaved heads (so now the world knows that Gigi has a perfectly shaped head, of course), before placing austere, jet-black wigs with Blade Runner-esque bumper bangs along the front and waist-length, sleek straight hair in the back. A goth-chic mullet, if you will.

We never thought we'd say this but if anyone could tempt us into trying this jaw-dropping transformation, it would be the Hadid sisters. There's no denying that the shaved sides perfectly accentuated the supermodel duo's cheekbones, while the masterful precision of the cut lends a polished edge to the punk look.

To add to the otherworldly feel, legendary backstage make-up artist Diane Kendal bleached out models' brows and opted for a hazy grey smokey eye to lend a haunting mood to the bold beauty look. Lips were also kept barely there to bring focus to the architecture of models' faces.

Regulars on the Marc Jacobs runways and in the brand's campaigns, Gigi and Bella are often spotted wearing the brand in their off-duty looks, but this outing is certainly one for the books. #Twinning never looked so cool.
