BECCA Is Closing (Sob). Here's the 5 Cult Products to Buy Before They're Gone Forever

The saying goes all good things must come to end, but as the internet will confirm, it feels royally unfair in the case of BECCA Cosmetics.

Make-up fans all over Britain declared their heartbreak when the brand announced last week that after 20 years, it would be shutting its doors for good.

In a statement on its website, the brand said: 'At BECCA, an accumulation of challenges, together with the global impact of Covid-19, has sadly been more than our business can withstand, and we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to close down the Becca brand at the end of September 2021'.

Becca was founded in Australia in 2001 by makeup artist Rebecca Morrice Williams. It launched in the UK in 2001 and became an instant hit thanks to a number of complexion perfectors that made it a breeze to recreate that coveted golden hour glow. Over years, cult products such as Champagne Pop Highlighter and Under-eye Corrector became some of the buzziest, most sought-after make-up products to ever launch.

The brand was then bought by Estée Lauder in 2016 and released a number of limited edition celebrity collections, which were fronted by the likes of Khloe Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen and Jaclyn Hill and were overnight success stories.

While we're pretty gutted, at least there's a little time to go hard on your classic favorites, before they're gone forever. Here are the products that you need to stockpile, STAT.

The 5 products to stockpile before Becca shuts

1. Under Eye Brightening Corrector

This really is a little pot of magic. It's adored by beauty editors and make-up artists for its ability to disguise pesky panda eyes. It's full-coverage, but doesn't crease and uses light-reflecting technology to diminish dark under-eye circles.

2. Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter

This buttery powder is the highlighter of all highlighters. It's a best-seller because it bestows a subtle, backlit luster that's akin to any IG filter. It's finely milled, so it glides across your skin seamlessly and, crucially, doesn't look make you look like a disco ball. Simply sweep across cheekbones, define your cupid’s bows or brighten the inner corners of your eyes.

3. Backlight Priming Filter

The primer is so good you barely need to bother with concealer or foundation afterwards. It instantly revives a dull complexion thanks to subtle, ‘soft focus’ pigments that blur imperfections whilst also refracting and diffusing light to give a lit-from-within look that looks so natural you can't quite believe your eyes. It's super lightweight and isn't sticky or cloying compared to ther primers. It really is the best of the best.

4. Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation

What makes this formula such a winner is that it's the perfect marriage of coverage and breathability. It contains 21% pure pigment and 22% water, meaning it's thick enough to conceal imperfections but thin enough so that it doesn't feel cakey. Plus it goes the distance, after a full-on day you'll barely need any touch-ups.

5. Ultimate Lipstick Love

These creamy lipsticks have become a staple in make-up bags up and down the country since they launched. For one, there are a whopping 30 shades to choose between, from soft nudes to warm reds so you'll never be stuck for options.

Secondly, the formulas are otherwordly. Laced with hydration powerhouse hyaluronic acid, nourishing avocado and olive oils, they feel soft and comfortable on lips and have mega stay-put power.
