Beautiful spring postbox toppers are popping up across the country
We are ready for spring – and what better way to welcome the return of brighter days than with gorgeous postbox toppers!
To celebrate spring and the upcoming Easter weekend, crafters across the country have been putting their crochet hooks and knitting needles to good use to create beautiful yarn postbox toppers.
The toppers are intricately decorated with spring flowers, dozens of Easter chicks and even Peter Rabbit. They're brightening up high streets across the UK.
Janice shared a picture on Instagram of a gorgeous crochet topper decorated with sheep and daffodils.
She captioned it: "How beautiful is this postbox topper in the village of Ashover".
He's one of our favourite characters, and now Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit has his own postbox! Samantha Phipps shared a picture of the sweet topper, complete with Peter munching on a carrot.
She wrote: "Peter Rabbit... how cute is this on our village postbox". We agree!
Spring scenes are a popular decoration for postbox toppers at this time of year – we love the scarf on this bumblebee surrounded by flowers, just in case it gets a bit chilly!
Not all postboxes are the same shape, and beautiful square designs can be spotted up and down the country. These daffodils are seriously impressive, and we love the popcorn stitch detail on the sheep!
Easter wouldn't be complete without a few cute Easter chicks, and the Long Eaton WI showed off their crochet skills with their postbox topper, complete with chicks, an Easter bunny and a posy of spring flowers.
Although easily removed, without permission yarn bombing can be considered illegal. If you want to create your own yarn bomb tribute, it's best to seek permission first.
