Beanie Feldstein wanted to pay homage to mother's wedding dress on her big day
Beanie Feldstein wanted her custom Gucci wedding gown to pay homage to her mother's.
The Booksmart actress tapped Gucci to design her wedding dress and sent the designers a mood board of looks which inspired her before she tied the knot to Bonnie-Chance Roberts on 20 May.
"I created a mood board of sorts with different elements that spoke to me," the 29-year-old told Vogue. "I also included a photo of my mom's wedding dress from 1975 because her dress featured a fabulous lace sleeve I knew I wanted to pay homage to."
Beanie shared that the luxury brand's design team sent her the sketches for her dress and she instantly knew when she found "the one".
"I've always been such a bow obsessive, and the moment I laid eyes on that stunning bow piece they created, my breath left my body and I knew I was looking at my wedding dress," she gushed.
"The thing that absolutely blows me away about the dress is that it is simultaneously incredibly vintage feeling, it almost feels like they took a dress from a hundred years ago and restored it, and also remarkably modern and fresh. It is modest yet sexy. The dress is a beautifully complex piece containing multitudes within it. I still cannot believe it's mine."
As well as the nod to her mother, Beanie also paid tribute to her great-grandmother, who she is named after, by wearing her earrings.
Beanie exchanged vows with Bonnie-Chance in Hudson Valley, New York, with the film producer wearing a pink champagne suit by Gucci.
The Lady Bird actress explained that her partner wanted to look like "a bride, not a groom", and a photo of Julia Roberts wearing a suit served as the inspiration for Bonnie-Chance's outfit.
