BBC Traitors fans confused over 'completely unnecessary scene' in latest episode

Fans of BBC The Traitors are already confused over a 'completely unnecessary scene' in episode two (January 2).

The popular reality gameshow has returned to our screens in time for the New Year with the second episode to be broadcast on Thursday evening. However, while it will be shown at 8pm on BBC One, it is already available to stream on iPlayer for fans who just cannot wait.

Viewers who have already watched it have shared their opinion over one unexpected moment just minutes into the show. It comes as the Traitors are debating which of the Faithfuls should be next on the chopping block.

While the first episode already saw a shock twist with three contestants left behind before they even got to the castle, as they sacrificed themselves out of the game and left the train ahead of reaching its destination.

In the early moments of episode two, following the first banishment of the series, the Traitors are at it again and debate over who they think should be murdered next. They narrow it down to three Faithfuls whose departure they believe could have the most benefit to their game plan.

One of these is 20-year-old Freddie from Peterborough who is currently studying Politics. As the Traitors hold their discussion, shots of each Faithful was shown on screen, even though they are supposedly at their hotels by this point of the evening. First, was Keith practicing martial arts moves followed by Leanne looking at herself in the mirror.

However, as Freddie was shown, he was inexplicably seen in the shower. Fans have already shared their thoughts online to this moment with one quoting one of the student's previous comments from earlier in the series. They quipped: "'I'd like to be the first Black prime minister' 'k babe, can we get a shower shot.'"

Another asked: "Why was there just a completely unnecessary shot of a man showering in The Traitors?", with another adding: "What was the need of that shower scene then… no need at all."

However, not everyone complained about what they saw with one admitting: "Not the shower scene already omg noooo. I mean, absolutely gorgeous material, but such a betrayal if he's out already."

The Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer
