With the finale of The Bay on ITV behind us, we now can't wait until season three - but there's one huge change, and we still have some unanswered questions.
The show's second series, which ended earlier this month, has been watched by over 19.2 million viewers - so there's a lot of people out there excited for what season three has in store.
Once again, this season is written by award-winning writer and playwright Daragh Carville with Furquan Akhtar (Coronation Street) co-writing series three.
The big news from the new series is that Morven Christie won't be back as Family Liaison Officer, DS Lisa Armstrong. Morven posted a picture of her in character and described the role as ‘a gift’.
Here's everything we know so far about the show. If you've not yet finished season two, don't read on!
The Bay season 3: The questions we have after the season 2 finale
One of the main characters in the show met a grisly end, but who killed Med (played by Taheen Modak) and what were they trying to cover up?
He was killed in episode three when he was caught in a hit and run, but we still don’t know who the murderer was. We’d seen Med investigating Breakwater Developments, as he was suspicious it was a front, before his death. Hopefully season three might give us some answers...
The Bay season 3: Who is replacing Morven Christie?
Marsha Thomason is set to join The Bay for its third series.
Marsha (Cobra, White Collar) joins the regular cast as Morecambe CID’s new Family Liaison Officer, DS Jenn Townsend, following the departure of Morven Christie.
ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill, who commissioned the third series says, “We are delighted with the audiences’ response to The Bay and look forward to them meeting DS Jenn Townsend played by thefantastic Marsha Thomason, who joins the team in series 3.”
Executive Producer, Catherine Oldfield says,“Daragh and I couldn’t be more delighted by the audience response to The Bay. That ITV have recommissioned the show is fantastic and to get a talent as bright and brilliant as Marsha to lead the new series is beyond exciting. We can’t wait to get back to Morecambe to start filming again in that beautiful part of the world.”

The Bay season 3: Which cast are returning?
Daniel Ryan (Innocent, Home Fires) as DI Tony Manning, Erin Shanagher (Viewpoint, Peaky Blinders) as DS Karen Hobson, Thomas Law (The Worlds End, A Cinderella Story) as DC Eddie Martin and Andrew Dowbiggin (Cobra, Coronation Street) as DS James Clarke are all reprising their roles.
The Bay season 3: What's it about?
According to ITV, "DS Townsend is immediately thrown into the deep end when a body is found in the bay on her first day in the job. She must get under the skin of a grieving and complicated family if she has any chance of solving the premature death of an aspiring young boxer.
"While she’s eager to give the family answers, she also needs to prove herself as the team’s newest recruit. The pressure is multiplied when her new blended family struggle to settle in Morecambe, proving to Jenn that a fresh start might not be as simple as moving to a different town."
The Bay season 3: When's it on?
Series 3 is due to begin filming in the spring, so it won't be on our screens until 2022 at the earliest.
