Barbie Expand Inclusive Range Of Dolls With New Diverse Additions

Barbie dolls are embracing diversity with some special new additions to their Fashionistas range. Mattel’s inclusive line of toys now includes a Barbie doll with behind-the-ear hearing aids reflecting those suffering from hearing loss, a doll with a ?prosthetic leg, and a Ken doll with vitiligo, matching a bestselling Barbie version introduced in 2020. Other Ken dolls are also getting a makeover with rooted short hair and a new slender body type. Dr. Jen Richardson, leading authority in educational audiology, helped the toy company develop its doll representing those with hearing loss. “As an educational audiologist with over 18 years of experience working in hearing loss advocacy, it’s inspiring to see those who experience hearing loss reflected in a doll. I'm beyond thrilled for my young patients to see and play with a doll who looks like them” The dolls are priced at $9.99.
