'Banks telling customers we'll keep closing branches until you go online'
ANOTHER closing branch. More staff losing their jobs. Less places to do banking.
These companies are forcing us all into a corner and dictating that you must do online banking or lose the bank/building society.
Then some faceless person from head office goes on to tell us that it is with deep regret that we have to close or cut the hours of another branch.
What they are really telling us is that unless we do online banking to boost our profits we will keep closing branches till you do.
Not everyone has the facilities to do online banking nor want to.
If like me you have been scammed then you certainly would think twice about it. Not everyone likes plastic money. There are a great deal of people who prefer cash. The cheque book has almost gone into oblivion. Staff at banks have almost gone.
Real cash will go soon but hopefully not in my last few years on this selfish planet.
Do banks not make enough profit without making life more difficult? Not all building societies in the same company are the same. There are branches out there that have staff who should be put on a customer training course with manners being high on the agenda. Customers do not seem to matter in this day and age as long as targets are met and bonuses are paid out.
I am not a Victor Meldrew but why should I have to use a card or telephone to pay one pound to park my car.
Everything to make life easy for the office staff and accountants.
Yes we live in sad times.
