Liam Charles was just a young student at Goldsmiths University in London when he first graced our screens as a contestant on the eighth series of The Great British Bake Off in 2017. Despite only coming fifth in the competition, his charisma and charm won over viewers across the UK.

In 2018, Channel 4 recognised his popularity and invited him to host Bake Off: The Professionals. His successful stint led to an invitation to judge Junior Bake Off alongside Prue Leith.

Aside from his TV appearances, Liam has also penned two cookbooks - Cheeky Treats: 70 Brilliant Bakes and Cakes and Second Helpings. In addition to his presenting roles, Liam also previously worked as a monthly food columnist for the Guardian after his time on the show.

While he keeps his personal life under wraps, speculation about his net worth ranges between £740,000-£3.7m according to Buzzlearn.

As for his love life, in 2020 he mentioned a girlfriend named Alexis in a now-deleted Instagram post, but it's unclear whether he's currently in a relationship.

The Instagram post featured him in a warm embrace with a young lady, accompanied by the caption: "And the rest was history. This big headed person is the sole reason why I keep going to LA."

Fans of The Great British Bake Off were recently left in tears after watching the celebrity Stand up to Cancer special as they listened to Elizabeth Rooney’s story.

Halfway through the episode that saw Rhod Gilbert, Danny Dyer, Yinka Bokinni and Leigh Francis (aka Keith Lemon) try to impress Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, Channel 4 played a very emotional Stand up To Cancer Story.

During the short film, 11-year-old Elizabeth Rooney explained how she had “cancer roughly four times”. Her stepfather Matthew, went on to say how she had cancer “first of all when she was three, reoccurred around six. Again around seven or eight.”

As a result of her cancer, Elizabeth had one of her eyes removed. But as viewers discovered, the story only continued to become more tragic.

Rhod meanwhile got emotional at the end of the show having been through cancer himself. He said: "For me, it's really, really emotional to be here. There was a point where I didn't really know what the future held and just to be here - just to be anywhere. To be here's pretty amazing."
